Why we built Unhold.
Unhold started with a simple question: why is no contact so hard?
The advice everywhere is the same — block them, delete the photos, don't text. But nobody talks about the 2 AM urges. The intrusive thoughts. The way your hand reaches for your phone before your brain even catches up.
Healing isn't linear. Some days you're fine, some days you fall apart over a song. And the apps out there either treat you like a patient or push you toward generic self-care that doesn't apply.
We're building the companion we wished we had. Calm, honest, science-backed, and always there — especially on the bad nights.
You're going to be okay. We're here to help.
What we believe
Detachment is freedom.
Letting go isn't loss — it's reclaiming yourself.
Privacy is sacred.
Your data is yours. We never sell it. Anonymous means anonymous.
Healing is daily.
Small consistent actions beat dramatic gestures every time.
You're not broken.
You're human. And humans heal.
